LEWISBURG – The recent controversy at the Union County Housing Authority has the attention of county commissioners. At their meeting Tuesday, commissioners heard from residents about the authority’s recent admission that it mistakenly filled a vacant seat. Commissioner John Showers said they are soliciting resumes for the vacancy, “We are looking for individuals who are willing to serve on the housing authority and this is public notice and there’ll be more public notice that we are soliciting resumes.” Residents expressed their displeasure that the authority is run by “an outsider” since executive director Bruce Quigley lives in State College.
